November 16, 2023 - A friend posted a long article in support of Israel.
In the article, was this sentence:
"The current awful Israeli government has allowed religious fanatics, “settlers,” to build settlements there, which makes everything worse."
This sentence is loaded with objectionably implications:
- Religious fanatics - they are religious people. They are no more fanatics than the person who wrote the article is a secular fanatic.
- Settlers - they are people who bought houses in a neighborhood, like every neighborhood in the United States.
Settlers is a derogatory term.
- Settlements - family neighborhoods.
Settlements is a derogatory term.
The implication is that Jews should not be allowed to buy land.
Why would anyone, other than the enemy, support a policy that prevented Jews from buying land anywhere?
- Judea and Samaria - Jews are buying land in Judea and Samaria, the ancient homeland of the Jewish people.
If you say you do not think Jews should be allowed to live in Judea and Samaria,
then the Arabs are right.
Jews should not be in the middle east at all.
- Makes everything worse - wrong.
The more Jews that live in Judea and Samaria the better the situation is.
The only solution to the problem with the land in Israel is for Jews to buy all, or nearly all the land.
First, the terrorists have to be removed from Judea and Samaria.
Whatever good people are there, people that want peace, can stay.
As Mosab Hassan Yousef says, "They do not need a country. They need a mayor."
Jews will pay any price for the land.
Those that own land will be thrilled to sell their land.
Those that want to keep their land will be free to do so.
- Awful government - this is the best government, the most far-seeing government.
This government made peace in the Middle East.
This government made Israel into a technology superpower.
This government has the only realistic solution to the problem.
